Yesterday, Senator Mulroe welcomed students from Ridgewood High School’s AP government class to the Illinois State Capitol. Mulroe was joined by Representatives McAuliffe and Martwick in greeting the students.

The class was able to tour the Capitol, including the House and Senate chambers. They also participated in a mock debate with Mulroe, McAuliffe and Martwick on the House floor, where they argued real issues that are before the state legislature during the current General Assembly.

After their debate, they were escorted to the House Gallery, where Representative Martwick acknowledged Senator Mulroe and the students from the House floor. They then watched House floor action, while Senator Mulroe offered commentary about what was happening in the chamber below.

Senator Mulroe also had a chance to spend time with two students, Jennifer Bogdal and Samantha Frank, who were appointed his honorary Pages for the Day.

We offer a huge thank you to the AP government class at Ridgewood High School for joining us at the Capitol and making the day so enjoyable!
